I understand what you guys are saying but I fundamentally disagree and think it is a bad business decision and a bad game design decision to just make a story recap game.One Piece Odyssey is a new RPG inspired by the manga from Eiichiro Oda. It invites direct comparisons to a medium you're not going to be able to compete with storytelling-wise, it stifles creativity, it pushes away players that haven't finished the material, The list goes on and on I see a very long one of downsides. I think it's a really simple statement that the games handicap themselves by being a subpar retelling of a story that your franchised customers will already be deeply familiar with.

What ps2 era games are you talking about? Berserk, Naruto, DBZ, Bleach, etc all had tons of games and they ALL just told the anime's plot (that's like 20+ games between those) literally the only ones I can think of that had an original plot were those super mediocre Fullmetal alchemist games.Īnyways volume doesn't really matter.
